Ansel C. Ugural, Ph.D., is a visiting professor of mechanical engineering at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, Newark, New Jersey. He was a National Science Foundation fellow and has taught at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Madison, Wisconsin. Dr. Ugural held positions at Fairleigh Dickinson University, where he served for two decades as a professor and chairman of the mechanical engineering department. He has considerable and diverse industrial experience in both full-time and consulting capacities as a design, development, and research engineer. Dr. Ugural earned his M.S. in mechanical engineering and Ph.D. in engineering mechanics from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He has been a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the American Society of Engineering Education. He is also listed in Who’s Who in Engineering.
