Ann Gallagher is head of health sciences and professor at Brunel University London. Ann is a registered nurse, editor-in-chief of the international journal Nursing Ethics, a Fulbright scholar and a fellow of the United Kingdom Royal College of Nursing. Ann’s career is dedicated to progress towards excellence in health and social care through education, research and scholarship. Her most recent book is Slow Ethics and the Art of Care (2020). At the time of writing, Ann was head of nursing at the University of Exeter. Kris Deering is senior lecturer and researcher in mental health nursing.
