CrimeCon UK has announced the shortlist for their True Crime Awards 2024.

Whether it's docu-series, podcasts or books, there has been an exponential rise in the popularity of true crime. The True Crime Awards recognises the talent and expertise required to research and then retell a true crime story in a way that is both accurate and entertaining. The shortlist has been voted for by their esteemed panel of judges, formed from industry leaders across Broadcast, Podcast, Media & Publishing, all with an interest in True Crime. When picking the shortlist the judges were asked to consider the originality, production values, research, ethics and sensitivity of each submission, all whilst brining their unique insight to the process.

Amongst this year's publishing shortlist is our very own editorial expert Matt Johnson and John Murray, with No Ordinary Day which has been shortlisted for the Book of the Year and the Outstanding Investigative Reporting Awards. No Ordinary Day is "eye-opening and thought-provoking throughout", read the shocking history and ongoing fight for justice after the murder of Police Constable Yvonne Fletcher in 1984. An important read that comes highly recommended by our team, we wish Matt and John the best of luck with the next stage of the awards.
