Day of the Accident Reader Reviews

Day of the Accident

A superb thriller that will have you sitting on the edge of your seat while turning every page

This is one of the best books I have reviewed in a long time!

It is an intense thriller from beginning to end and one that readers of many genres will thoroughly enjoy. Nualla Ellwood keep the suspense flowing through the book from beginning to end and it also reaches out emotionally to the reader which makes the reader feel as if she knows the main character personally.

Without giving any of the story away, the twists and turns throughout the book are superb and is Maggie innocent or could it be someone else

A good plot and grips the reader from the first page.

Beginning of book had short chapters, easy reading, big writing so quickly gets the reader's interest regarding the plot.
It intrigues the reader wanting them to know what happens next, why and how.

All in all its has a good plot and grips the reader from the first page.

Only pick up this book if you have nothing to do for 24 hours. You will hug your child a little bit tighter after reading it. Powerful and compelling writing.

This was a compelling read - do not pick it up unless you have a day free to complete it. I was pulled in immediately due to the fact that so much in it was deeply relatable - I live near the places mentioned, I have woken from a coma with memory loss and I am a mother.

There is abandonment, revenge, deception but, ultimately, love in this story - the lengths you will go to protect and find it. Powerful writing, brilliantly capturing the confusion amnesia causes. There is huge guilt following an accident and grief ebbs and flows through this book. The therapeutic power of the ocean and Nature, combined with the recurring theme of being drowned, both literally and emotionally, make for a dreamlike, strikingly observed novel. It underlines the power of someone to come through huge trauma and begin to heal.

The writing is gorgeous, the characters utterly credible, the ending will make you catch your breath. This is a story which will cause you to hug your child a bit tighter the next time they call for you. Hugely recommended.

A best seller I can feel it. Cleverly written. Unpredictable, and a rapid page turner.

Let's just say it's been a while since I've read a thriller that left me guessing from start to finish. Okay perhaps I worked part of the plot out, but that didn't stop me turning each page with eager anticipation.

The story begins with Maggie. She's woken up after being in a coma for 10 days only to discover her Daughter has died and her husband is missing. She's lost everything, including part of her memory.

Maggie believes her daughter is still alive and desperately tries to piece together the events that lead to this terrible tragedy.

So cleverly written, I read this feeling so much despair for the central character. I was still thinking about the plot days after I'd finished. This story holds so many emotions. I absolutely loved it and can't wait to read more from this talented writer.

A gripping book of unexpected twists which conjures up a rollercoaster of emotions in the reader! Gripping from start to end.

Wow! What a rollercoaster of a read! I couldn't wait to turn each page and discover yet another twist to the poignant tale. The story begins with the protagonist awaking from a coma to discover that her child has died and her husband deserted her. With nothing else left to lose, she gains enough physical strength after the tragic accident, to uncover the truth behind that fateful day. Emotionally distraught, she is taken back to her youth and learns how she could not leave the past behind her, despite every effort to do so.
I was truly gripped throughout this book and it I so carefully and thoughtfully written that I felt as though I lived each chapter with her. A must read!

If you are looking for a book to keep you up at night – this is the one. If you are looking for the great plot twist – there isn’t only one plot twist…

When Maggie wakes up from a coma, her whole life has changed. The nurse tells her that she has been in an accident, her little daughter is dead, and her husband sold the house and left her. Maggie doesn’t remember a thing.

With no home, no family, and no memory, she has to find a way and discover what happened that day.

A thriller that will uncover the greatest of secrets everyone could have. A nail-biter, this one, I tell you.

The character of Maggie was so well formed, that love between a mother and her little daughter is expressed in such a lovely and caring way. A book that will be definitely hard to read for all the parents out there, but a very good one.

I especially loved the part with the letters – it was such a unique way to present
… present what? I am not telling you. Go and read it, duhh!

The scenes are so vivid and realistic and the little Virginia Woolf Easter eggs thrown across the pages of this book were so precious. Thrilling story and plot that keeps you on your toes. I haven’t read anything this good in a while!

If you are looking for a book to keep you up at night – this is the one.
If you are looking for the great plot twist – there isn’t only one plot twist…

I highly recommend it to all of the mystery lovers that are reading my review.

A masterpiece.
