This book is a collection of five short stories, each very different but with central theme of all of them desire and how it manifests itself in different ways. Each story is set in a different location and range in time from pre-second World War to the present day. Although I enjoyed all of the stories, there were a couple that stood out to me and I would have liked these to continue, so I could find out more about the characters and what they did next. Overall, this is a really enjoyable book and is nice and easy to dip in and out of, by reading a story at a time. I would really recommend this book. Nicola Coen, A LoveReading Ambassador
A Maxim Jakubowski selected title. One of the leading contemporary authors of erotica long before the E. L. James tsunami, American writer Tyler also explored when younger many of the dangerous detours of the BDSM world in her real life and, until now, had only documented this in her blog. This is the initial volume, based on her writings there, of her discovery of kink and more, a sentimental and sexual education which will take your breath away and help understand the motivations and yearnings alternative ways of living can inevitably provoke. Written as thinly fictionalised biography, this is both fascinating, scary and heartfelt but also profoundly humane, and shows that the unsettling quirks of the human mind and body can come in much more than fifty shades.
A Maxim Jakubowski selected title. US-based Anglophile Szereto is one of the better anthologists in the literary erotica field and her standards are always set high, so any new collection she edits is definitely something to look forward to. Having offered us volumes of twisted travel yarns, subversive fairy tales and flesh-baring heroic fantasy, she now tackles the gothic and the dark side of life and sensual dreams. With generous encomiums by leading hot romance authors like Kate Douiglas and Rachel Caine, this literally hot off the press volume offers fourteen sizzling variations exploring the flip side of submission and seduction, many from new talents who all display a wicked imagination to revisit fantasy and the supernatural with often startling and sexy new perspectives. Pretty hot stuff.

A highly-charged sexual adventure through the minefield of modern dating told with wit and no holds barred. Explicit, candid and very rude.
Rumoured to be based on personal experiences, this is quite a tale. Sexually explicit, highly instructional and charmingly tongue-in-cheek, it is the frank diary of a newly engaged, sweet copy-editor battling with wedding plans and pending in-laws while earning a hard crust as a high-class prostitute. Both fascinating and fun.Comparison: Belle de Jour, Catherine M.Similar this month: None.
