The wonderful thing about crime (and fantasy) writing is that authors always seem to renew themselves and the genres with stunning ease. You'd think murder investigations, serial killers, historical thrillers and quest stories have been done to death and that no one could improve on Agatha Christie, Patricia Cornwell, Ellis Peters or Tolkien - to name just some of the pioneers in the aforementioned categories - but both established writers and, surprisingly, newcomers just keep on blithely ignoring that rule and come up with new twists, fascinating variations and this month's batch of new books is as innovative and surprising as ever. So, lucky readers, here are some more indispensable books for you to feed on!!
