Ian Fletcher was born in London in 1957. His first book, In Hell Before Daylight, was published in 1984 since when he has written nine others including The Waters of Oblivion, Craufurd's Light Division, Gentlemen's Sons, Fields of Fire, Wellington's Foot Guards, Wellington's Regiments and Galloping at Everything.
