In the Jewish quarter of Paris an old nightmare is reborn. With the help of her partner Rene, a dwarf with extraordinary computer skills, she sets out to solve this horrible crime and finds herself caught up in a dangerous game with links to both modern politics and crimes from the Second World War.

Cara Black lives in Noe Valley with her bookseller husband, Jun, owner of Foto-Graphix Books, and her son, Tate. She's a San Francisco Library Laureate, Macavity and three time Anthony award-nominee for her series, Aimee Leduc Investigations, set in Paris. She is a member of Sisters in Crime, International Crime Writers and the Marais Historique Society in Paris. She gets to Paris as often as she can.
