The Testament by Eric van Lustbader

The Good Book Guide logo The Good Book Guide Review. Years ago, Eric Van Lustbader’s publishers dropped the ‘Van’ from his name so that he would be alphabetically higher on bookshop shelves; that ploy has long since been abandoned, and the author has it back. But under whatever name, he is one of the most reliable of thriller writers in the current field, as his new one, The Testament, shows. Bravo Shaw’s father dies under strange circumstances, and the secrets that Bravo always knew his father possessed come to light. Dexter Shaw belonged to a clandestine religious cult, long thought to have been banished. The sect has a lost testament that could bring an end to Christianity…and Bravo is soon on their trail.

Synopsis

The Testament by Eric van Lustbader

Bravo Shaw always knew his father had secrets, he just didn't realise how dangerous they were... When Bravo's father dies in mysterious circumstances, his hidden life is laid bare. Dexter Shaw belonged to a secret religious order long thought extinct. For centuries, this order has guarded a lost Testament that could end Christianity as we know it. Dexter was the Keeper of the Testament - now his son must take his place. Bravo has to solve the clues his father left behind, locate this precious document and ward off those who want it destroyed. But his enemies are powerful, and will stop at nothing to keep their secrets buried...
