This was a wonderful and uplifting story of a traveller who went to climb a mountain but found it changed his life, and the local people he met. Due to the trials and tribulations of mountaineering, which itself makes a fascinating read, Mike and his wife Chantal meet and befriend a Nepalese family. This meeting changes both families lives and the future of a girl called Karma, so aptly named. A very interesting read, with fascinating pictures.

a heart-warming read that covers personal challenge and growth but focuses mainly on human connection, something that I think people have realised the importance of recently.
‘A Story of Karma: Finding Love and Truth in the Lost Valley of the Himalaya’ is a detailed and descriptive travel memoir that follows Michael and his wife Chantal as they embark on a mountain expedition that ends up changing their lives.
The writing is enticing and I enjoyed learning more about Michael and Chantal in the beginning, it was crafted in a way that sets the foundations for the rest of the novel instead of being the introductory preamble to get through before you reach the main focus of the book.
