LoveReading Says
I spent the entirety of this novel falling in love and in friendship with 90-year-old Eddie Winston. He is one of the most delightful characters to walk onto the pages of a book. Eddie volunteers in a charity shop, quietly saving the emotional treasures that he thinks people might return for. When 24-year-old Bella and Eddie meet, it appears as though they are destined to be friends and he admits that he is waiting for his first kiss. Author Marianne Cronin’s debut, The One Hundred Years of Lenni and Margot was absolutely delightful and a firm favourite with our team. Her second book is just as gorgeous, there is the similar feel-good vibe and yet this is as individual and stand-in-its-own-right fabulous as can be. Both novels have joined our LoveReading Star Books collection, so if you need a hug in a book form, step this way. All of the characters feel real and authentic, you can imagine them as existing just around the corner, just out of sight, but ready to step into your life. Eddie and Bella are now a part of me, joining my favourite fictional characters, and very welcome they are too. There is a sadness to encounter along the way, it makes its way from the page with compassion and empathy. The joy of this book is the balance of the realism of life while being full of hope. A Liz Pick of the Month, Eddie Winston is Looking for Love is an uplifting and heartwarming novel I can highly recommend.

About
Eddie Winston Is Looking for Love Synopsis
Eddie Winston is ninety years old. He has lived and he has loved, but he has never been kissed.
A true gentleman and incurable romantic, Eddie spends his days volunteering at a charity shop, where he sorts through the donations of the living and the dead, preserving letters and tokens of love along the way. It is here that he meets Bella, a troubled young woman who, aged twenty-four, has just lost the love of her life.
When Bella learns that Eddie is yet to have his first kiss, she resolves to help him finally find love, sparking an adventure that will take them to unexpected places and, they hope, bring Eddie to the moment he has waited for all his life.
As Bella helps Eddie and Eddie helps, well, everyone, a soul-stirring story of friendship and kindness unfolds as we see how those we love are never forgotten and it is never too late to try again.
