Synopsis

Juvenile Justice The Essentials by Richard A. Lawrence, Mario L. Hesse

This textbook presents an overview of the major subject areas in juvenile justice, with some of the latest research available from books, journal articles, and government documents. It includes special features that engage the reader in thinking critically about the subjects, with practical examples of justice in action, laws, policies, and programs in juvenile justice.

Reviews

The book is straightforward and easy for undergraduate and introductory students to comprehend. -- Amy Cook My overall assessment of this project is one of success! The text is well-presented and done so with clarity and a style that makes for easy reading and limited confusion. It takes the reader from a non-system to considerations for a future in juvenile justice. The strengths of this work are founded on clear, understandable language and a viewpoint of unbiased desire to present the most current and relevant information possible. As for weaknesses, generally speaking, I could find none. -- Earl Ballou Jr.
