Charlie X by David Edwards

Synopsis

Charlie X by David Edwards

Part fantasy and part science fiction, Charlie X explores the question why can't people treat each other with dignity? The lead character of the book Charlie Parker is very short for his age. Because of his size, he is bullied and picked on by everyone including his parents. As an adult, the bullying continues until a rock from outer space transforms the small man into a giant. Charlie grows to an enormous size, beyond the point to which his loving wife and children are able to care for him. This captivating story takes place in an airy Las Vegas setting. Charlie's life is cruel and unfair. People made fun of him and embarrassed him because he was different. Charlie was a great man and loved by his wife and kids and all he ever wanted was for others to treat him with dignity and respect. The story is unforgettable and there is a lot to be learned from the complex characters intended for teens of all ages.
