Space by Rob Lloyd Jones

This is a great fun flap book packed with interesting information about space, and the amazing things that float through it - stars, moons, comets, and the planets of our solar system. Each double-page spread has a stunning colour illustration, and several flaps to lift to find out more about what's going on in the scene - such as what goes inside the International Space Station, how astronauts visited the Moon and what they did there, as well as the history of astronomy, from Galileo to the Hubble Space Telescope.

You can watch the film celebrating the six short listed books, as reviewed by some of the young people who made up the judging panels across the UK.

A great-fun flap book introducing our solar system to young children through detailed colour spreads and interactive novelty pages. The Bookseller

The sky’s the limit for inquisitive youngsters who will be over the moon with a brilliant Look Inside book which has 70 flaps to lift...a fun and fascinating way to introduce children aged four and over to our solar system. Lancashire Evening Post

About the Author

Rob Lloyd Jones

Rob Lloyd Jones never wanted to be a writer when he grew up. He wanted to be a fireman. Or a polar explorer. Or a deep-sea diver. And sometimes a pirate too. But, when it came down to it, he didn’t much like fire, or ice, or sharks, or even swords. So he decided to write about them instead. Since then, he’s written several books on subjects ranging from animals at war to the history of Islam. He loves it. But he still dreams about being a fireman.
