The Great Big Big George Book of Stories by Eric Pringle

The Great Big Big George Book of Stories

The Great Big Big George Book of Stories by Eric Pringle

'This book is about England's very first visitor from Outer Space . . .' When Big George crash-lands into the middle of a medieval forest, he is completely out of his depth . . . until he makes friends with Tilly Miller, a small but very brave girl. Young readers will love the magic and humour of gentle Big George's adventures as he experiences British history.

`Blithely anachronistic, this story is a breezy and comical read, with likeable good guys and satisfyingly revolting villains, that proves that good things can come in big packages' * Nicolette Jones, Children's Books Reviewer * `Big George and the Seventh Knight is a riot. Hugely enjoyable to read aloud, this is the funniest thing to happen to the Middle Ages since Monty Python, not least because Big George hasn't a clue what is going on' * Independent on Sunday * `Unlike many series for children, Eric Pringle's Big George books are getting better and better, as past events become incorporated into the ongoing story. Pringle makes some serious observations on the human condition, the humour less knockabout than before, and underlying it all is the melancholy of a man who knows that if he falls asleep he will wake to find the world changed and his friends gone for ever' * Jan Mark, Times Educational Supplement * `This book is funny, exciting and it makes you want to read it again . . . I think Eric Pringle is as good as Roald Dahl' * Adam Leadbetter (age 11), Sunday Express Book Review *
