Synopsis

The Book of Shells by Fabio Moretzsohn, Jerry Harasewych

Co-authored by one of the world's pre-eminent scholars, The Book of Shells illustrates a life-sized collection of 600 of the world's most significant shells. Each entry is accompanied by a miniature line-drawing and beautiful life-size photograph enabling rapid identification, whilst magnified details reveal the diversity of pattern. The result is a beautiful book that is both a significant resource for enthusiasts and scholars, and the most visually stimulating guide to shells you could wish to find.

Reviews

'The authors are experts who have an obvious enthusiasm for all things 'shell'. The pictures jump off the page - you can almost feel the wondrous textures. The book of shells will galvanise any reader to plan their own expeditions in search of these exquisitely sculpted pieces of calcium carbonate.'
BBC Wildlife (August 2010)
