The Yarn Palette The Ultimate Visual Guide to Choosing the Right Colour, Texture and Style for Every Pattern

Synopsis

The Yarn Palette The Ultimate Visual Guide to Choosing the Right Colour, Texture and Style for Every Pattern by Claire Montgomerie

This is a guide to the different types of yarn available (not just traditional wool but also cotton and silk yarns) and the wide variety of colours, textures and fibres that they come in. The book covers colour and how to blend it with textures to create specific moods. There are sections on natural colours, various cultural choices and favourite hues from different historical periods. Twenty projects are included and there are useful directories on stitch types as well as the different yarns available. The book is suitable for the beginner but will also be an invaluable source of inspiration for the more experienced knitter and designer. It should be on all knitters' reference shelves.
