Tales of Brother Marcus Pilgrimage by Allan Armstrong

This book, set in the 'dark ages' of Europe - relates the story of Stefan, a young man sickened at the suffering caused by the endless and futile wars that have blighted his life. Stefan leaves his homeland to seek the legendary land of his ancestors. What he finds is the mysterious world of Brother Marcus, leads him on a long and dangerous journey to a hidden monastery in which the objects of his quest may be found. But this narrative is more than a simple tale of adventure. As it unfolds, the reader is led into an allegorical exploration of temple symbolism that both reveals and conceals truths about the secret life of the soul, a life that is central to those individuals that have heard the call of the Holy Spirit, and who are compelled to undertake a pilgrimage that leads them into the inner sanctum of Creation.
