Synopsis

Tips for the Mathematics Teacher Research-Based Strategies to Help Students Learn by Alfred S. Posamentier, Hope J. Hartman, Constanze Kaiser

Written to provide classroom teachers access to the many worthwhile findings resulting from educational, psychological, and sociological research studies done in Europe and the United States, this book is a ready and easy reference for mathematics teachers. It consists of four chapters, each presenting a collection of teaching tips. It is an important first step in bringing educational research findings to the practitioners they were intended to help.

Reviews

A good resource for teachers who want practical ways to incorporate the results of research into their classrooms. Whether providing new ideas or supporting established ones, this book would be useful in a school's professional library or on an individual teacher's shelf. -- NSTA Recommends, July 2002 One of those rare books that is research-based, easy to read, and eminently practical. A joy to use. I recommend it highly to all educators interested in mathematics education. -- Robert J. Sternberg
