To be a U.S. Army Green Beret by Gerry Schumacher

The latest book in the popular series The Green Berets' motto is Liberate the Oppressed, and it takes extremely capable and highly trained individuals to carry out their operations in the world's most dangerous and unforgiving locales. They operate behind enemy lines, sometimes for months at a time, are trained to work in all climates and cultures, and have a no surrender will of spirit if ever taken prisoner. This book provides an insider's view of what it take to become a member of the Army's Special Forces the elite Green Berets. It describes the skills they learn and equipment and tactics used to engage in unconventional warfare, foreign internal defense, direct action, special reconnaissance, information operations, and counter-proliferation.

Army Magazine, March 2006 (circ.: 85,000)

To Be a U.S. Army Green Beret is written by someone who has obviously 'been there - done that.
This is a must

-read and in my opinion should be standard issue to every high school library and recruiting station in America.

I read new, exciting writers and established authors before publication and there is a great website full of brilliant books and opinions.

I recommend Lovereading because you get honest reviews on a whole range of genres-there's something for everyone. It's the only site I need.

Sian Spinney

Books of the month/debuts of the month, kids/adults, fiction/non-fiction, free prize draws and free extracts, what's not to love?

Emma Smith

They are bright, breezy and eager to offer a great book, then genuinely listen/respect the review one writes.

Maggie Crane

Love Reading - it not only does what it says on the tin, it does it with Jam on!!

Maz Tucker

A well laid out site, I love the fact that is separates paranormal fiction from fantasy and horror, which other sites don't.

Jen Rainbow

Its jam packed with fantastic titles, informative descriptions & fantastic reviews and has a vast array of great features & competitions.

Linda Rollins
