Inscribed Across the Landscape by Roy Loveday

Presenting a study of Cursus - the long parallel banks that run across country for miles, this book shows how the nationwide canvas reveals their conceptual origin and their role in the dynamics of Middle Neolithic Britain. It examines methods of construction and layout, and addresses their purpose - processional way, race track, or observatory.

About the Author

After a lifetime in archaeology, during which he completed a national survey and doctoral thesis on cursus monuments, Dr Roy Loveday is now Honorary Visiting Fellow at the School of Archaeology and Ancient History, University of Leicester. He is the author of many academic articles
