Lucas Birmingham and Beyond by Gordon Bunce

Synopsis

Lucas Birmingham and Beyond by Gordon Bunce

Gordon Bunce's first book, Lucas in Birmingham , was a social history of one of Birmingham's largest employers until its closure in 1989. He has compiled a second - using new material (pictures and anecdotes) submitted by his readers. It covers not just the plants in the Midlands but factories in the rest of the UK and overseas.

About the Author

Gordon Bunce worked for Lucas for 35 years and collected company memorabilia for most of that time. He has the only known collection of Lucas photographs - the best of which were published by Sutton Publishing in Lucas in Birmingham. Since that book was published he has continued his research and thanks to the generosity of his readers has amassed a huge amount more material - some of which appears here.
