Synopsis

On That Christmas Night by Lois Rock

Alison Jay has illustrated many books for children, and her beautiful paintings are instantly recognisable. In this book see the story of the birth of Jesus interpreted in her own unique style, using vignettes, borders and full page art to accompany a sincere retelling of the Nativity. There are many intriguing people, animals and landscapes to look at along the way, bursting with new details to find with a young child, as you share the story of that special night.

Reviews

A beautifully illustrated version of the Christmas story. Church Times 5/5 stars A retelling of the biblical Christmas story, this book is a wonderfully accessible and straightforward way of acquainting earliest readers with the First Christmas. Wonderfully at home in a church school classroom or private library, this book is sure to become an annual favourite. What made this book over the top perfection for me, is the artwork of Alison Jay. Amazingly detailed, compelling artwork spans each page, creating both full page vignettes and charming borders for text. I couldn't love this book more! -- Goodreads reviewer Goodreads
