Synopsis

The Giddledegoys by Pam Maltby

Willam is four and Darcy is two. From their window in the big house they can look out over the garden to where a little stream winds gently among the willows. It all looks very peaceful and still, but in reality the garden is home to a race of very busy tiny people. They are hidden in the woodpile, they are tunnelling under the ground, they are creeping through the long grass ...They are the Giddledegoys.

About the Author

Pam Maltby was born in Dartford, Kent. She worked as a secretary until she retired to Bigbury-on-Sea, South Devon with her husband and a daft golden retriever called Meg. She has a son, daughter and four grandchildren. It was my grandson, William, who started to use the tongue-twisting word 'giddledegoy' before he could talk. I did some research and discovered this group of tiny people in his garden, which prompted me to write about them,A says Pam with a laugh. If you look carefully, I'm sure every child has some Giddledegoys living near them - you just have to believe.A
