The ninth Roy Grace mystery. This one is a little different so an excellent starting place for new readers for all background material you need is provided. Grace’s ex-wife’s disappearance still hangs over him but he has a new life now. The difference here is that we have a 1920’s New York gangster-land section. The whole thing is bound round the antique trade and sparked by a robbery in Brighton (Grace’s home patch) where amongst the huge haul stolen was an antique watch the elderly 80-year old owner will do anything to retrieve. Why, how and what Grace does about it is thrilling stuff.

If you like Peter James you might also like to read books by M. R. James, Stephen King and Adam Nevill.
