Sarah Broadhurst's view...

A fabulous book of girly short stories by some of the best in the genre, 32 altogether and all brand new. Have a look to see if your favourite author is amongst them: Jessica Adams, Cecelia Ahern, Maggie Alderson, Lisa Armstrong, Tilly Bagshawe, Faith Bleasdale, Elizabeth Buchan, Meg Cabot, Jenny Colgan, Tiffanie Darke, Jill Davis, Imogen Edwards-Jones, Nikki Gemmell, Kristin Gore, Lauren Henderson, Wendy Holden, Belinda Jones, India Knight, Kathy Lette, Gay Longworth, Chris Manby, Carole Matthews, Anna Maxted, Sarah Mlynowski, Santa Montefiore, Liz Noble, Freya North, Victoria Routledge, Louise Voss, Fiona Walker, Daisy Waugh and Jennifer Weiner. The other great thing about this is that I understand all the contributors have given their stories for free and a £1 a book goes to the charity War Child. Do buy it.

Comparison: The two previous anthologies, Girls Night and Girls Night In.
Similar this month: For short stories Peter Robinson, for girls’ fiction Lissa Evans.

There are over thirty writers donating stories to this collection and they are among the best known, bestselling female fiction authors writing today. This is the perfect Christmas paperback for anyone who cannot wait for the next fix from their favourite author.

The list of contributors comprises: Jessica Adams, Cecelia Ahern, Maggie Alderson, Lisa Armstrong, Tilly Bagshawe, Faith Bleasdale, Elizabeth Buchan, Meg Cabot, Jill Davis, Stella Duffy, Imogen Edwards-Jones, Harriet Evans, Mike Gayle, Kristin Gore, Wendy Holden, Belinda Jones, Louise Kean, Cathy Kelly, Helen Lederer, Kathy Lette, Gay Longworth, Chris Manby, Carole Matthews, Anna Maxted, Karen Moline, Santa Montefiore, Elizabeth Noble, Freya North, Adele Parks, Victoria Routledge, Louise Voss, Fiona Walker, Daisy Waugh, Isabel Wolff and Deborah Wright.

All the writers involved have donated their stories for free. HarperCollins will donate at least £1 to War Child and No Strings for every copy sold, continuing the amazing work for children in war zones whose lives have been torn apart by conflict.

About the Author

Jessica Adams is the author of the bestselling novels Single White E-mail, Tom, Dick and Debbie Harry, I'm a Believer and Cool for Cats. She has also worked on the anthology Girls' Night In and its sequels, raising £1million for the global childrens' charity War Child. She is also the author of The New Astrology For Women and is co-author of 21st Century Goddess.

Maggie Alderson was born in London and lives in Sydney. She was editor of Elle in the UK, has worked for many other magazines and newspapers and is a popular writer with the Sydney Morning Herald.

Imogen Edwards-Jones is a journalist, broadcaster and the author of four novels, including My Canape Hell and Tuscany for Beginners, and the bestselling expose on the hotel business Hotel Babylon.

Chris Manby is editor/contributor to the Girls’ Night In anthologies, which have so far raised more than £900,000 for humanitarian organisation War Child, and topped book charts all over the world. Raised in Gloucester, Chris now lives between London and Los Angeles. Her hobbies include reading in-flight magazines and she hopes that continually crossing time zones is an effective anti-ageing strategy.
