Lovereading view...

Sarah Broadhurst's view...

A nice human tale turns into a spy thriller and then turns again into a satirical romp. This is very clever stuff with the lovely central theme of internationally successful espionage novels actually carrying codes for foreign agents to receive their instructions from. When our protagonist takes on the job he has no idea what has hit him, he just wanted to be a successful author and grabbed an opportunity. Wow. This is great fun.
