Sarah Broadhurst's view...

If you have heard of this author you might wonder why I am recommending him to you for doesn’t he write thrillers? Correct, and strange, futuristic stuff as well as historical novels. Those he will continue to do. He seems to have turned himself into a writing industry with others fleshing out his plots, co-writing with him, but this bittersweet romance is his alone. It’s a Danielle Steel look-alike, entwining two deeply touching romances. What he is so clever at is pace. He really draws you in, leaving cliff-hangers at the end of each short section so he is almost impossible to put down. You should try him.

Comparisons: Danielle Steel, Nicholas Sharp, Bridges of Madison County.
Similar this month: Ben Sherwood, Cecilia Ahern.

If you like James Patterson you might also like to read books by C.J. Box, Jeffery Deaver and Lisa Gardner.

Synopsis

Sam's Letters To Jennifer by James Patterson

When Jennifer returns to the resort village where she grew up, she finds a series of letters in which her grandmother reveals a huge secret she has concealed for decades: that her great love is not the man she married. Jennifer herself thinks she could never love again, but before she knows it, is caught up in the greatest flight of exhilaration she’s ever known. Then, just as suddenly, she learns that this new love comes with an unbearable cost...

Reviews

'The novel's structure works brilliantly, with Patterson as usual using brief chapters and simple prose to propel the reader onward... [A tale] that few if any will put down as Patterson again shows how it is done'
