John O’Farrell brings his unique style to the history of Britain over the last century. “Utterly exasperated” is exactly what he is and this makes for a thoroughly enjoyable read that’s not quite so stuffy and formal as the usual take on Britain’s past.

If you like John O'farrell you might also like to read books by Marina Lewycka, James Delingpole and Matt Beaumont.

Synopsis

An Utterly Exasperated History of Modern Britain or Sixty Years of Making the Same Stupid Mistakes as Always by John O'farrell

Following his hugely popular account of the previous 2000 years, John O'Farrell now comes bang up to date with a hilarious modern history asking 'How the hell did we end up here?' "An Utterly Exasperated History of Modern Britain" informs, elucidates and laughs at all the bizarre events, ridiculous characters and stupid decisions that have shaped Britain's story since 1945; leaving the Twenty-First Century reader feeling fantastically smug for having the benefit of hindsight.
