Synopsis

The Big Short Break by Ronald Asprey

The Big Short Break is a departure from the usual hotel-focused guides, and combines the Original Travel team’s first-hand knowledge of the featured destinations with vibrant photography and their trademark innovative design.

Following on from the huge success of their ‘Big Short Break’ concept, and with time proving an ever more elusive luxury in today’s hectic world, Original Travel is proud to launch The Big Short Break. The book features 52 original travel experiences, selected with one key condition in mind: Minimum Time, Maximum Experience.

Covering over 30 countries, the book introduces exciting new destinations such as Libya, Romania and Svalbard, as well as containing some of the company’s signature ‘Big Short Breaks’, including dog-sledding in Swedish Lapland and trekking the High Atlas Mountains in Morocco.

Written by Ronald Asprey, the text is insightful, humorous and inspirational, and incorporates insider information gleaned from the Original Travel team’s personal experience of each destination.

All the trips have been chosen for their accessibility from the UK and for offering the opportunity to experience something new. Key information such as time required off work is highlighted, alongside insightful “p.s.” observations, restaurant and souvenir recommendations and “must-sees” and “don’t forget” snippets.

Every purchaser of the book who subsequently goes on to book a Big Short Break with Original Travel will receive a discount equivalent to the cost of the book, and by activating the membership card that comes with each copy, can benefit from additional perks relating to each trip, such as sundowners on private dunes, free camel rides, or spa treatments.

About the Author

Ronald Asprey is a freelance journalist and writer living in London but with a passion for travel to the furthest flung corners of the planet. Among many other travels, his most epic journey to date involved travelling up the Karakoram Highway in Pakistan through heavily-armed bandit country, then zig-zagging overland across China for 3 months and coming home via further exploration of Sri Lanka. His latest project sees him back in the UK to write a book on the statues of London, The Big Short Break having been his first published book.

A well laid out site, I love the fact that is separates paranormal fiction from fantasy and horror, which other sites don't.

They are bright, breezy and eager to offer a great book, then genuinely listen/respect the review one writes.
