July 2007 Debut of the Month

This is a gem of a book if you like your fantasy novels. The book is not just about one “wanderer” but several unique and interesting characters drawn from all spectrums of the fantasy realm. Plenty of magic and sorcery and fantastical names to satisfy the most die-hard fans of the genre.

Synopsis

The Wanderer's Tale by David Bilsborough

Volume I of the Annals of Lindormyn, an action-packed new fantasy series in the Tolkien tradition.

Many generations ago was destroyed the arctic stronghold of Drauglir. Five hundred years later, rumours spread of the evil demigod’s second coming, with terrible consequences for the world of Lindormyn. In the remote northern town of Nordwas a ramshackle group is assembled by the ambitious warrior Nibulus, under the guidance of a mage-priest, to set off on the long and perilous journey back to Melhus to ensure that Drauglir is properly despatched this time round.

This quest includes two foreign mercenaries, three bickering priests, a young esquire . . . and, last but not least, Bolldhe the unsociable ‘wanderer’. Their eventful progress through a desolate terrain embroils them regularly with a wide array of races, creatures, giants and sorcerers – and with terrifying adventures which will affect each of them differently.

About the Author

David Bilsborough was born and brought up in Malvern, and spent his early working life there as factory worker, barman and van driver. Though he now lives in Indonesia, he still regularly returns to walk the Malvern Hills, the inspiration for much of his writing, and where possibly might live some of the colourful characters who feature so vividly in his story.
