Black & Blue Synopsis

Inspector John Rebus must disinter all four cases to nail just one killer who might just lead back to the infamous Bible John. And do it while facing the glare of an internal inquiry led by a man he has just accused of taking backhanders from Glasgow's Mr Big, and with TV cameras at his back investigating a miscarriage of justice. One mistake is likely to mean an unpleasant and not particularly speedy death or, worse still, losing his job.

  • Phylippa Smithson - 'Totally captivated from the very first page of this crime thriller – but no surprises there as the author and his character Rebus are top of the premier league in their genre.'
  • Angela Rhodes - 'DI John Rebus, has his own ways of getting to the truth, and yes they are a little unconventional, but he gets the job done.'
  • Clare Topping - 'I finished this book in less than two days and will now be endeavouring to read all of the Inspector Rebus novels from the beginning.
  • Edel Waugh - 'Rebus is in top form in this, the   eighth book in the series, there is a lot going on with the plot but it does not make it confusing , instead keeps you glued to the book until the very end . I love when a book does that!' '
