Bridget Jones's Baby The Diaries by Helen Fielding

Lovereading view...

Winner of the Bollinger Everyman Wodehouse Prize for Comic Fiction 2017.

As Bridget careers towards baby-deadline, tortured by Smug Mothers miming her ticking biological clock, a series of classic Bridget Jones moments finally leads her into pregnancy - but just not quite as intended. But 'Who's the Father?'

The Judges' comment: "The judges all absolutely loved Helen Fielding’s laugh-out-loud funny addition to the series. Bridget Jones’s Baby: The Diaries is a fun, witty and engaging novel featuring the wonderfully likeable Bridget Jones who continues to connect with readers more than two decades after her inception."

If you like Helen Fielding you might also like to read books by Sophie Kinsella, Lauren Weisberger and Sue Townsend.

Bridget Jones's Baby The Diaries by Helen Fielding

It's a pregnancy full of cheesy potatoes, outlandish advice from Drunken Singletons and Smug Mothers, chaos at scans and childbirth classes, high jinks and romance, joy and despair.

'A gloriously funny and touching story' Daily Express

'Bridget Jones is as relevant and funny today as she has always been... Daniel [Cleaver] is not only alive and shagging, he also has the best lines... Again and again he comes up with smutty one-liners that steal the show' Evening Standard

'Fielding's narrative diverts from the screen version: notably that feckless Daniel Cleaver, the original fuckwit in Bridget's life is, gratifyingly, very much alive and central to the plot of the novel.' Financial Times

'It's a real fun read. The jokes are great and you find yourself rooting for Bridget and praying she gets the outcome she deserves' The Sun
