The Dark by V. M. Giambanco

Lovereading view...

Following on from The Gift of Darkness and also starring Detective Alice Madison of the Seattle Homicide team, this new one needs the first to be read to fully appreciate it. It centres on the discovery of bones from a kidnapping 25 years earlier where the other two boys escaped. Five years after the event one of the kidnappers was found dead in a trapping pit. Originally there were four kidnappers. Now the murders mount up as does the tension in a dark, atmospheric tale. Those murdering the kidnappers were particularly scary, ruthless and menacing folk. With lots of forensics and psychology this continues to build Madison’s character ready for the next in the series. ~ Sarah Broadhurst
