Lovereading view...

The prolific Nora Roberts has done it again, another terrific read. This one is a crime novel revolving round the discovery of a Fabergé egg which has been lost to the world since the Russian revolution. Our heroine is a professional house-sitter who witnesses a murder and while reporting it to the police meets the brother of one of the victims. They team up to solve the mystery, naturally placing themselves in lots of danger as they get sucked into a dark world of criminal activity. ~ Sarah Broadhurst

If you like Nora Roberts you might also like to read books by Charlaine Harris, Anita Shreve and Sue Grafton.

As a house-sitter, she loves looking after the glamorous homes she could never afford herself. And as a writer, she enjoys dreaming up stories for the people she sees from her window. But then one day she witnesses something only too real - the shocking murder of a young woman living across the street in New York. Now Lila is in mortal danger from an audacious, single-minded assassin who kills for profit and for pleasure. With the police following a false lead, Lila's only hope is to team up with Ashton Archer, an artist with his own complicated reasons for getting involved.
