A high stakes heist of the Federal Reserve! Great. Lawyer Mike Ford, whom we first met in The 500, is an ex-conman with a big heart and a brother, Jack, who seems to be an even bigger conman than Mike was. They get caught up in a very dangerous conspiracy and need to use their various old, and new, skills. So we get listening and viewing devices and computer hacking alongside good old lock picking. It is fascinating. There is a lot of finance and banking details explained too. It is compulsive stuff, highly recommended. ~ Sarah Broadhurst

If you like Matthew Quirk you might also like to read books by Harlan Coben, John Grisham and Lee Child.

Synopsis

The Directive by Matthew Quirk

Never bet in another man's game, they say, but what if that man is your brother and the hand he's been dealt is lethal? Michael Ford has worked tirelessly to escape his criminal past and finally has it all: a beautiful fiancee and a promising career. Yet his brother Jack's return threatens to unravel everything. Embroiled in a billion-dollar conspiracy against the Federal Government, the only way Jack can come out alive is with Mike's help. Sucked back into the dark criminal underworld against his will, Mike soon realises the only way to secure his future is to walk straight back into his past.
