Who is Tom Ditto? by Danny Wallace

Sarah Broadhurst's view...

Tom meets Hayley, falls in love and they move to London. He finds work as an early morning newsreader on local radio, she in a dress shop. Life is good then Hayley goes walk-about and Tom tries to find her. What he finds is an odd bunch of people who enhance their lives by following and copying other people. All very odd. They seem unhappy people in sad situations but this is Danny Wallace so it becomes strangely humorous, astute and addictive. A very clever, unusual work.

Reviews

'Tremendous. A wonderfully well-observed and beguiling novel - shrewd, funny and stealthily profound' William Boyd

'Who is Tom Ditto? is Danny Wallace at his very best: funny, assured and relentlessly clever. A brilliant novel' -- John Niven

'An air of mystery and of a past being reconstructed, with a booster shot of comedy...As you would expect from the author of Awkward Situations for Men, the toe-curling embarrassment of much of Tom's life is well realised' Observer
