You Will Never Find Me by Robert Wilson

Sarah Broadhurst's view...

“You will never find me” is the note 17-year old Amy leaves when she disappears to Madrid. Her separated parents are members of a police kidnap department so well placed to trace her … or so they think. This is a great tale of duplicity, revenge, murder, drugs, torture, fear and more; fast moving and very good. The sub-plot follows the kidnapping of a small boy, son of a Russian politician, which adds to the drama.

If you like Robert Wilson you might also like to read books by Michael Dibdin, Barbara Nadel and Andrea Camilleri.

Who is Sarah Broadhurst

The Good Book Guide logo The Good Book Guide Review. Wilson is interested in how his characters handle themselves under duress. In his books corruption is endemic, and the damage to family relationships handled with authority. Charlie Boxer has got everything wrong with his family life. With him first in the army, then the police, then high-stakes kidnap and recovery, his ex-wife and daughter learnt to live without him as his work took him places no man can come back from unscarred. But Charlie only realises just how wrong things have gone when he finds (in his daughter’s empty room) a note: ‘You will never find me.’

Synopsis

You Will Never Find Me by Robert Wilson

YOU WILL NEVER FIND ME. When Charlie Boxer reads this note from his daughter in her empty room, the words only reinforce what he already knows: he's always got his priorities wrong. His ex-wife, DCI Mercy Danquah, and their daughter, Amy, have learned to live without him. Boxer's work in high stakes kidnap and recovery has taken him to places from which no man returns unscathed. And Amy has been around enough police business to plan the perfect disappearing act. But what Amy doesn't realise - and Boxer knows only too well - is how quickly a life can fall apart when living under the radar. Charlie follows Amy's tracks from London to Madrid - but will the trail last long enough for him to face up to the true meaning of the sins of the fathers?
