With so much muddled thinking around food there is much to be learned – and enjoyed from The Virtues of the Table which covers many of the current concerns – local and sustainable eating, GM crops even the use of gadgetry over traditional cooking methods. I found it clarified my thinking and articulated arguments, not just giving the rights and wrongs of an issue but a deeper questioning, taking us into the fields of philosophy and mindfulness, using food to question the human condition.
