Sarah Broadhurst's view...

This is indeed a dark and twisted tale, quite brilliant. Jumping from character to character with each chapter ending in a cliff hanger, it is very hard to put down. The star is former DC Lacey Flint who is now an officer in the Thames River Police. She has a past and a boyfriend missing in action, and lives on a boat. She comes across a body in the river and then another … and another. Beautifully written, involved and intricately plotted, sometimes frightening, always gripping and definitely not for the squeamish, this is ace stuff. Sharon Bolton is also S J Bolton of six equally good crime novels. Highly recommended.

If you like Sharon Bolton you might also like to read books by Val McDermid, Tess Gerritsen and Peter James.

Who is Sarah Broadhurst

The Good Book Guide logo The Good Book Guide Review. Having given up her job as a detective to join the river police for a quieter life, Lacey Flint, in this her fourth adventure finds far more than she expected on going for a morning swim. The body wrapped in white burial cloth proves to be only the start of a thrilling escapade that is written with Sharon Bolton’s customary dark edge. There are lots of twists to the plot and a denouement worthy of Agatha Christie.
