Lie of You by Jane Lythell

Sarah Broadhurst's view...

Subtitled “I will have what is mine” this is female revenge and obsession taken to the nth Degree. Two women, and they both narrate their tales, envy different aspects in each other’s lives. Finnish Heja is cold and calculating, lovely Kathy a trusting, warm, first-time mum. They both work for an architectural magazine. A great emotional drama develops quite quickly and once hooked you really will find this difficult to put down. It is excellent.

If you like Jane Lythell you might also like to read books by Gillian Flynn, Zoe Heller and Tamar Cohen.

Synopsis

Lie of You by Jane Lythell

One woman's fear is a another woman's weapon... When I look back on my relationship with Kathy I marvel at how naive she was, how little she knew. But then, she always thought she had everything: the job; the baby; the friends; and him. She thought she was safe. She thought that nothing could touch her perfect world. She should never have trusted me. A woman sets out to destroy a female colleague in this chilling psychological thriller.

Reviews

'A very credible portrait of obsession to the point of madness ... a clever, involving first novel'
Literary Review

'Fascinating ... clever ... the author's real skill is her ability to invent memorable original characters. A thrilling read
Daily Mail

'Pumps up suspense like Gillian Flynn's Gone Girl ... delivered in a sharp, pragmatic style that is gripping and readable, but behind the adventure the plot hints at bigger, more complex questions about our society
The Scotsman

.'A clever psychological thriller ... Lythell has a flair for leading the reader into assumptions then pulling away the foundations
Daily Express
