Lastnight The 5th Jack Nightingale Supernatural Thriller by Stephen Leather

Sarah Broadhurst's view...

The 5th in the fantastic Jack Nightingale series – don’t even think of reading it if you haven’t read the first four. Nightingale is a brilliant protagonist in a very dark world and this is a brilliant thrilling chiller. A very clever and unexpected ending which will leave you wondering what on earth can happen next awaits fans of the series as Jack himself is in danger battling evil forces. Full of twists and shocks, and something of a blood bath as Leather reaches his almost impossible conclusion.

If you like Stephen Leather you might also like to read books by Ted Bell, Christopher Farnsworth and John Connolly.

Synopsis

Lastnight The 5th Jack Nightingale Supernatural Thriller by Stephen Leather

The cops aren't getting anywhere so Jack Nightingale's nemesis, Superintendent Chalmers, asks him for help. Nightingale discovers that the murdered Goths had one thing in common: a tattoo connected to the secretive Satanic child-sacrificing cult called the Order of Nine Angles. As Nightingale closes in on the killers, the tables are turned and he finds himself in the firing line, along with his friends and family. The Order will stop at nothing to protect their secrets and Nightingale realises that there is nothing he can do to protect himself. Nor can he run, for the Order has connections across the world. It leaves him with only one way to stop the carnage - and that's to take his own life ...
