Solo A James Bond Novel by William Boyd

Sarah Broadhurst's view...

William Boyd is a self-avowed James Bond nut and this shines through in the latest of the revived Bond franchise. This isn’t the up to date Bond of the movies but the sixties Bond of Fleming’s books and the detail of the character and the period are impressive. However it’s considerably less pacy than one might want or expect in a 007 thriller and unless you’re a serious fan of Boyd or Fleming you may find yourself frustrated.

If you like William Boyd you might also like to read books by Ian McEwan, Alan Hollinghurst and Ian Fleming.
