Fall in Love With Dilly Court - Celebrate the release of Dilly Court's 40th Book!

Charlotte Walker

By Charlotte Walker on 1st November 2020

For the publication of her 40th book, Rag-and-Bone Christmas, we're celebrating Dilly Court - the Sunday Times best-selling author of heart-warming historical sagas.

Court has been publishing books since 2005 under the names Dilly Court and Lilly Baxter. Her latest title, Rag-and-Bone Christmas is a festive treat and perfect to curl up and enjoy on a winter evening!

Our Reviews Editor, Liz Robinson, had the pleasure of reading the 40th book and described it as "a perfect gift" and a "warm-hearted, page-turning, festive feast of a novel". You can find all of Liz's thoughts here on the Rag-and-Bone Christmas book page.

With 15 years worth of prolific writing, there's plently of material to fall in love with as you work through Court's past books. Some of the books form their own series so you can fall even deeper in love with the characters, although Rag-and-Bone Christmas is a standalone title, and a brilliant starting point!

Set in Paradise Row, London. December 1865.

Snow is falling fast and Sally Suggs is working tirelessly to bring in enough money to keep bread on the table. Her father, a skilled rag-and-bone man, has fallen ill and now Sally has taken up his trade.

But this is a man's world and competition is fierce, and Sally's rival Finn Kelly always seems to be one step ahead. Her family's one valuable possession is their horse, Flower, yet with no one to protect them, London's underbelly of black-market traders circle closer.

Sally needs to find help in the most unexpected places if they are to survive...

Dilly Court grew up in North East London and her career started in commercial television. She now writes from her home in Dorset on the Jurassic Coast where she lives with her husband and a large, yellow Labrador.
