Serge Ferrari graduated from the Geneva Faculty of medicine in 1989, and has been research and clinical fellow, and Instructor in medicine at Harvard Medical School in 1997-2001. He is currently Associate Professor of Medicine at the Geneva Faculty of Medicine. He is also a Medical Associate at the Department of Internal Medicine Specialties (Bone Diseases) of the Geneva University Hospital. His main research areas are bone growth and fragility in childhood, genetics of osteoporosis, molecular mechanisms of parathyroid hormone activity and bone remodeling. He is co-chair of the council of scientific advisors of the International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF) and past President of the Swiss Bone and Mineral Society. Christian Roux is Professor of Rheumatology and Head of Bone Unit at Cochin Hospital, Paris Descartes University, France.
