Roy DeBerry is executive director of the Hill Country Project. He recently retired as vice president for economic development and local governmental affairs at Jackson State University, where he also served as executive vice president and vice president of external relations. Aviva Futorian worked as a freedom school teacher in the summer of 1964 and was an organizer for the Student Non-violent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) in Benton County. An attorney based in Chicago, she is board chair of the Hill Country Project. Stephen Klein worked for the US Agency for International Development. He is a board member of the Hill Country Project. John Lyons is an Emmy Award-winning documentary filmmaker and a teaching artist. He is a board member of the Hill Country Project.
