Philipp Schorch is head of research, State Ethnographic Collections Saxony, Germany, and honorary fellow at the Alfred Deakin Institute for Citizenship and Globalisation, Deakin University, Australia. Sean Mallon is of Samoan and Irish descent and is Senior Curator Pacific Cultures at the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa.
