Dr. Lucas Petit is curator of the Near Eastern department of the Dutch National Museum of Antiquities. He has held positions at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe-Universität Frankfurt am Main and at Leiden University. In recent decades he has been involved in various archaeological fieldwork projects in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. He is currently co-directing the renewed excavations at Tell Damiyah in Jordan. He has written and edited several volumes, including Oursi hu-beero, Het Nabije Oosten, Settlement Dynamics in the Middle Jordan Valley and A Timeless Vale. Prof. dr. Daniele Morandi Bonacossi is Professor of Near Eastern Archaeology at the University of Udine. He was previously a research fellow at the Free University of Berlin and the University of Munich. He has directed and participated in many archaeological excavations and surveys in various sites and regions in the Near East (Syria, Oman, Yemen and Iraq). He is currently directing the Land of Nineveh Archaeological Project in the Kurdistan Regio
