Girolamo Mattioli is Director of the Pediatric Surgery School at the University of Genoa, and Head of the Pediatric Surgery Unit at the Giannina Gaslini Institute of Genoa, an internationally renowned children's hospital. He has performed over 5000 surgical procedures in children, 3000 of them using minimally invasive approaches. He is the author of more than 300 publications and a member of the principal pediatric surgical societies (EUPSA, IPEG, SICP). He is also a reviewer for the Journal of Pediatric Surgery, Journal of Urology, and Journal of Laparoscopic & Advanced Surgical Techniques. Professor Mattioli’s research fields cover all aspects of pediatric minimally invasive surgery. Paolo Petralia graduated in Medicine and Surgery and subsequently specialized in Hygiene and Preventive Medicine with a particular focus on hospital organization.
