Jewell, PT, DPT, PhD, FAPTA received her Bachelor of Arts in history from Williams College, her Master of Science in physical therapy from Boston University, her Doctor of Philosophy in health services organization and research from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) and her transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy from VCU. She practiced in both inpatient and outpatient settings for over 25 years and was board certified in cardiovascular and pulmonary physical therapy for 20 years.Dr. Jewell is President and CEO of Sheltering Arms Corporation and Hospitals, a physical rehabilitation hospital system providing inpatient and outpatient services in central Virginia.
